While Amazon’s Alexa reigns over the realm of network speakers, one country still resists the intruder and largely favors Google in its queries: France.

According to a study by OnePoll and Reichelt Electronik, Google Home is indeed the most popular personal assistant in France. Behind Google, we find Apple’s Siri, and in third place, Amazon’s Alexa, as revealed by the blog Le Site de Bankai.

30% of French people use Google Assistant

The survey was conducted on a representative sample of the French population of 1,000 people. The survey revealed that 30% of them use Google Assistant, while 17% use Siri for their queries. Finally, 9% of respondents trust Alexa.

The survey also shows the predominant uses in France with a connected speaker. It was found that 75% of French people use it to search the Internet, 61% to listen to music, 51% to listen to and send messages, and finally, 43% to control their smart home.

Gauls resisting the fire against connected speakers

Nevertheless, the French seem to be particularly cautious regarding connected speakers. 54% of the surveyed panel are concerned about their digital security. The most common fears are about listening to private conversations or sharing personal data.
